Henning Dicks
With roots in farming and a degree in agricultural economics, Henning Dicks understood early on one of the less visible barriers to biomethane growth: producing renewable gas is not enough if operators cannot navigate certification and bring it successfully to market.
In 2021, he co-founded agriportance to address that challenge. The company combines software for greenhouse-gas and mass-balance accounting with certification support, balancing-group management and brokerage services for certified biomethane and biogenic CO₂.
Under Henning’s leadership, agriportance has grown from two people to a team of 38, supported more than 1,200 GHG balances, attracted over 700 customers and today brokers approximately 3.2 TWh of certified biomethane annually. The company has also expanded from Germany into several European markets.
Alongside his entrepreneurial work, Henning contributes to industry dialogue through webinars, events and associations including the European Biogas Association and Fachverband Biogas.
Why vote for Henning? Because he has transformed a complex regulatory and administrative challenge into a practical route to market, helping more producers participate in Europe’s growing certified biomethane economy.
