Step into the spotlight: Apply for the EBA Awards 2025 

Do you work in an organisation enabling growth of the biogases sector? The EBA is thrilled to announce the fifth edition of the EBA Awards. The Awards recognise outstanding individuals and projects for their innovation in energy transition and renewables. 

This initiative is organised during the European Biogas Conference as part of the European Biomethane Week.

The 2025 edition of the EBA Awards includes the following categories: 

Biogas Booster – Harm Grobrügge Award

This award recognises efforts made to promote the positive impact of biogases and their multiple applications on economy, society and environment. 

Disclosure: Nominations for this award must come from a third party, as individuals cannot nominate themselves. 

 Biogas Problem-solver Award 

This award recognises outstanding problem-solving skills in biogas businesses, i.e initiatives that demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in overcoming challenges and finding out-of-the-box solutions in the biogas sector.

 Biogas SheLeads Award 

This award recognises brave women who are driving the energy transition and making gender equality a reality in the biogases sector.

Who can apply?

  • EBA members, non-members and European projects are invited to apply.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to register and attend the conference in Brussels on 14-15 October 2025 in order to participate in the final election process.

 

How to apply

  1. Submit your application: Candidates should fill out the online application form by 30 June 2025. 
  2. Idea proposal review: An expert jury will review all submissions in September and select the top entries.
    • By submitting your application, you acknowledge and accept the decisions and criteria set by the jury—a panel of experts drawn from independent organizations, entirely separate from the EBA Secretariat.

 Awards sessions

Wednesday 15

  • Intro: Presentation of the 6 finalists and outstanding achievements.
  • Vote: The audience will vote for the winners via an online platform. The prize will be a symbolic recognition. 
  • Results: Finally, the votes will be seen and the 3 winners announced.

 

 Important dates

  • Submission deadline: 30 June 2025.
  • Shortlist announcement: September 2025.
  • Awards session: 15 October 2025.
