Peter Kornatz

Head of Biochemial Conversion Department , German Biomass Research Center

Dr. Peter Kornatz is Head of Biochemical Conversion Department at the Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum (DBFZ; German Biomass Research Center) in Leipzig.

After obtaining a Diploma in Geography Peter Kornatz received his doctoral degree at the Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen on the topic “Agronomic land use changes induced by biogas production in Germany”.

From 2009 to 2017 he was researcher at the Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen, working on a project “Location-adapted cultivation systems for energy crops”

From 2017 to 2019 he has been researcher at the DBFZ before he became Head of the Department Biochemical Conversion. Peter Kornatz’s main research interests are technoeconomic system analysis and evaluation of biogas plants, Feedstock utilization and emissions from biogas plants.
